About the club
A student association since 2017
The Aviation Club at the University of St.Gallen was founded in 2017 and is officially recognised by the university. We bring students together with companies from the aviation industry and connect students across the university who share the same passion.
We organise events in collaboration with our partners that allow students to gain first-hand insights into the industry and lay the groundwork for careers in aviation. We want our events to be open to everyone, which is why the board works on a voluntary basis to keep membership free.
Our cooperation began with our founding partners CFAC-HSG and SWISS and now spans every corner of aviation.

Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains which personal data the Aviation Club at the University of St.Gallen (“we”, “us”) processes in connection with this website, for what purposes, to whom it is disclosed and how long it is kept. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, this policy also provides the information required under the GDPR.

2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted on the Wix platform (Wix.com Ltd., Tel Aviv, Israel), which acts as our processor.
What is processed: When you visit the website, Wix automatically processes technical data. This includes your IP address, the date and time of access, your browser and operating system, the referring website and the content requested.
Why: This data is needed to deliver the website, keep it stable and secure, and detect and prevent misuse.
Legal basis: Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and functional website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Storage: Wix stores this data for a limited period only and then deletes or anonymises it. Details are in the Wix Privacy Policy.
Images and files are delivered through the Wix content delivery network (static.wixstatic.com).
3. Transfers abroad
Wix.com Ltd. is based in Israel. Switzerland and the EU recognise Israel as providing an adequate level of data protection.
Wix also processes data on servers in other countries, in particular the United States. For these transfers, Wix relies on its certification under the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Where that does not apply, Wix relies on standard contractual clauses.
Google may also process data in the United States. For these transfers, Google relies on the Data Privacy Framework.
4. Cookies and local storage
Wix sets technically necessary cookies, for example:
“client-session-bind”: protects data requests; kept for the duration of the session
“bSession”: measures system performance; kept for 24 hours
In addition, the website stores an access token (“wix-visitor-…”) in your browser’s local storage so that events, partners and board members can be loaded. This token contains neither your name nor your email address.
We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics. Wix provides us with aggregated visitor statistics, such as the number of visits and pages viewed, in our Wix dashboard. We use these only to improve the website.
Legal basis: Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
You can delete or block cookies and stored data in your browser settings at any time. Some content may then not be displayed.
5. Contact form and email
What is processed: When you write to us through the contact form, we process your name, email address, the selected topic and your message.
Why: We use this data solely to answer your request.
How it is handled:
Submissions are stored in Wix Forms.
Your email address is added to the contact list of our Wix account.
Board members are notified of new messages by email.
The same applies when you contact us directly by email.
No marketing: We do not use your data for newsletters or other marketing without your separate consent.
Legal basis: Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.
6. Fonts
For a consistent appearance, the website loads the “Nunito Sans” font from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland; Google LLC, USA). In doing so, your IP address is transmitted to Google. Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in a uniform presentation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). More information is available in the Google Privacy Policy.
7. Links to other websites
The website contains links to UniClubs (membership and event registration) and to our channels on Instagram and LinkedIn. These are plain links without embedded content, so no data is transmitted to these providers until you click a link. On those websites, the privacy policies of the respective providers apply.
8. Recipients of data
We do not sell personal data. We disclose personal data only:
to the service providers named above (Wix, Google), to the extent necessary to operate the website;
to the members of our board who handle your request; they may use their personal email accounts for this purpose;
to authorities, where we are legally required to do so.
9. Your rights
Within the scope of applicable data protection law, you have the right to:
access your personal data;
have it corrected or deleted;
receive it in a common electronic format (data portability);
object to its processing;
withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future.
Under the GDPR, you also have the right to restrict processing.
To exercise your rights, contact info@aviation-club.ch. Requests are generally free of charge. We may ask you to verify your identity.
You can lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). If the GDPR applies, you can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority in your EU member state.
We do not make automated individual decisions and do not carry out profiling.
