About The Event

We will welcome Mr Urs Lauener, Chief Operating Officer at Skyguide, for a presentation on the topic “The Future Role of Air Traffic Controllers within the Single European Sky”. The Single European Sky (SES) is a pan-European vision to reform the air traffic management in Europe to cope with the forecasted growth in air traffic. This will be achieved by a variety of measures designed to de-fragmentise the European airspace, which will imply lower emissions, higher capacity and reduced delays for passengers. The SES approach is based on five pillars which include technological contribution or the human factor. As part of this event, the participants will have the chance to submit questions beforehand. We will structure the presentation and discussion based on these questions, so this event will be specifically tailored to your liking! Therefore, any questions concerning the SES and its implications on air traffic control and air traffic controllers in general will be welcome, which Mr Lauener will answer based on his career as an air traffic controller, specialist and currently COO.

Registration for the event is done through the form we will send via e-mail to all members.
